Hi [~fenghua_hu], thanks for the heads up. I've linked HDFS-9968. That one is going to be
a more difficult task. Here we just plan to add instrumentation around the lock so we get
a better sense of how bad the locking problem is in real clusters.

potential lock contention due to slow disk operations.
