Thanks [~hitliuyi] for the pointer! I didn't notice HDFS-8668 and I thought I could use it
to relate all the related issues. My dirty code indicated that all the required change isn't
trivial and would be better to break down into pieces, at least two or three. Yes I can take
HDFS-8668 and see how it would be better to proceed. Sounds good? Thanks.
