Rakesh R commented on HDFS-7116:

bq. I'm fine with your suggestion. Let's start this first.
Thanks a lot [~ajisakaa] for the feedback. I've attached another patch in this jira, here
I exposed a new metric named {{BalancerBandwidth}} on DataNode. Now, with this approach I'm
thinking jira subject/description and the proposed idea is not matching. Do we still have
any scope of supporting {{BalancerBandwidth}} command. If yes, I'm happy to create a separate
jira for the metric changes. Whats your opinion?

> Add a command to get the bandwidth of balancer
> ----------------------------------------------
> Key: HDFS-7116
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HDFS-7116
> Project: Hadoop HDFS
> Issue Type: New Feature
> Components: balancer & mover
> Reporter: Akira AJISAKA
> Assignee: Rakesh R
> Attachments: HDFS-7116-00.patch, HDFS-7116-01.patch, HDFS-7116-02.patch
> Now reading logs is the only way to check how the balancer bandwidth is set. It would
be useful for administrators if they can get the parameter via CLI.
