Subject [jira] [Updated] (HDFS-7491) Add incremental blockreport latency to DN metrics
Date Sat, 14 Feb 2015 17:56:12 GMT

Chris Nauroth updated HDFS-7491:
--------------------------------
         Component/s: datanode
    Target Version/s: 2.7.0

Hi Ming. This patch looks good.

The test is getting the value of the counter, but it isn't using that value for anything.
Did you mean to put an assert around that value?

Thanks!

> In a busy cluster, IBR processing could be delayed due to NN FSNamesystem lock and cause
NN to throw NotReplicatedYetException to DFSClient and thus increase the overall application
latency.
> This will be taken care of when we address the NN FSNamesystem lock contention issue.
> It is useful if we can provide IBR latency metrics from DN's point of view.
