Subject [jira] [Commented] (HDFS-7565) NFS gateway UID overflow

Hari Sekhon commented on HDFS-7565:
-----------------------------------

I'm running 2.6.0 and it looks like HDFS-6361 was supposed to be fixed in 2.4.1.

Whereas HDFS-7563 is a startup failure relating to the NFS gateway static UID/GID map parsing
function, this error occurs whenever I access the NFS mount point from my Windows 7 workstation,
which makes me think it's a different code path.

>             Project: Hadoop HDFS
>          Issue Type: Bug
>          Components: nfs
>    Affects Versions: 2.6.0
>         Environment: HDP 2.2 (Apache Hadoop 2.6.0)

> It appears that my Windows 7 workstation is passing a UID around 4 billion to the NFS
gateway and the getUserName() method is being passed "-2", so it looks like the UID is an
int and is overflowing:
> {code}security.ShellBasedIdMapping (ShellBasedIdMapping.java:getUserName(358)) - Can't
find user name for uid -2. Use default user name nobody{code}
