Subject [jira] [Commented] (HDFS-7500) Disambiguate hadoop-common/FileSystemShell with hadoop-hdfs/HDFSCommandsGuide
Date Tue, 09 Dec 2014 21:58:12 GMT

Allen Wittenauer commented on HDFS-7500:

It looks like maybe the only problem is actually two fold:

* FileSystemShell uses hdfs dfs instead of hadoop fs in all of the examples
* CommandsManual points to HDFSCommands instead of FileSystemShell.

These are both easily fixed. :)

> Disambiguate hadoop-common/FileSystemShell with hadoop-hdfs/HDFSCommandsGuide
> -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
> Key: HDFS-7500
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HDFS-7500
> Project: Hadoop HDFS
> Issue Type: Bug
> Reporter: Allen Wittenauer
> While working on HADOOP-10908, HADOOP-11353, and HADOOP-11380, it's become evident that
there needs to be one source of a command reference for Hadoop filesystem commands. Currently
CommandManual points to HDFSCommandsGuide for the 'hadoop fs' command, but FileSystemShell
is much more complete.
