Chris, could you please take a look at the patch itself or indicate you saw it. As a personal
favour, if I may. This issue is being rejected based on an anticipation of some future interfaces
(which I agreed to discuss), rather than technical objections to the patch. This is the essence
of it, the rest is communication noise blowing the drama out of proportions.
I intend to revert the patch.
