Subject [jira] [Updated] (HDFS-3924) Multi-byte id in HdfsVolumeId
Date Wed, 12 Sep 2012 04:26:07 GMT

Andrew Wang updated HDFS-3924:
------------------------------

    Attachment: hdfs-3924-1.patch

Patch changing the {{byte}} to an {{int}}, which should be sufficient for any realistic number
of disks per machine. Also fixed a typo.

I didn't manually test with >127 storage locations, but I ran the existing BlockStorage
tests (which passed), and the ids printed in the output looked sane.

> Currently, the {{id}} in {{HdfsVolumeId}} is just a single byte. It'd be nice to make
this larger, for situations where there's more than 255 disks.
