Subject [jira] [Updated] (HDFS-3957) Change MutableQuantiles to use a shared thread for rolling over metrics

Andrew Wang updated HDFS-3957:
------------------------------

    Attachment: hdfs-3957-1.patch

Most of the credit here belongs to Elliot, since I just tweaked his code from HBASE-6409 a
bit.

Tested by running the TestMutableMetrics unit tests, and also starting up a Namenode and jstack'ing
it to check that there's only a single MetricsExecutor thread.

> Each MutableQuantiles currently creates its own thread to rollover the histogram every
interval. It'd be better to do this with a single, shared thread or executor, and do it with
a ThreadFactory that names it properly.
> Similar changes were made when porting MutableQuantiles to HBase in HBASE-6409, so this
would also help keep them in sync.
