Date Thu, 12 Apr 2012 20:01:19 GMT

Todd Lipcon commented on HDFS-3267:

The test can be made to fail by adding a sleep(5000) at the start of BPServiceActor's thread.
> TestBlocksWithNotEnoughRacks races with DN startup
> --------------------------------------------------
> Key: HDFS-3267
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HDFS-3267
> Project: Hadoop HDFS
> Issue Type: Bug
> Components: test
> Affects Versions: 2.0.0
> Reporter: Todd Lipcon
> Assignee: Todd Lipcon
> Priority: Minor
> In TestBlocksWithNotEnoughRacks.testCorruptBlockRereplicatedAcrossRacks, it restarts
a DN, and then proceeds to call "waitCorruptReplicas". But, because of HDFS-3266, it doesn't
actually wait very long while checking for the corrupt block to be reported. Since the DN
starts back up asynchronously, the test will fail if it starts too slowly.
