Subject [jira] [Commented] (HDFS-2991) failure to load edits: ClassCastException
Date Thu, 23 Feb 2012 02:21:48 GMT

Todd Lipcon commented on HDFS-2991:
-----------------------------------

Correlating OEV output vs audit log output, this seems to be an error on the _writer_ side.

{code}
2012-02-22 13:07:11,564 INFO org.apache.hadoop.hdfs.StateChange: DIR* NameSystem.completeFile:
file /benchmarks/TestDFSIO/io_data/test_io_38 is closed by DFSClient_attempt_13299438936
{code}
corresponds to an OP_CLOSE

Then I see:
{code}
2012-02-22 13:15:37,959 INFO org.apache.hadoop.hdfs.server.namenode.FSNamesystem.audit: ugi=todd
(auth:SIMPLE)  ip=/172.29.99.9 cmd=append      src=/benchmarks/TestDFSIO/io_data/test_
{code}
but no corresponding OP_OPEN

then, when the file is CLOSED again, it barfs due to two CLOSE calls in a row
