Subject [jira] [Commented] (HDFS-1803) Display progress as FSimage is being loaded
Date Sat, 19 Nov 2011 19:16:51 GMT

Harsh J commented on HDFS-1803:

The FSImage loader is so chunky that its difficult to place this in a common area. Perhaps
we could display what stage we are in, instead? (Inodes, DNs, Under Constructions, etc.)?
Or the same as percentages instead.
> Display progress as FSimage is being loaded
> -------------------------------------------
> Key: HDFS-1803
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HDFS-1803
> Project: Hadoop HDFS
> Issue Type: Improvement
> Components: name-node
> Reporter: Dmytro Molkov
> Assignee: Dmytro Molkov
> Priority: Trivial
> In a large cluster the image takes quite a while to load. Right now there is no indication
of what the progress is.
> I propose a small patch that would simply print a message every time one more percent
of the image is loaded saying "Loaded x% of the image"
