Konstantin Boudnik commented on HDFS-2452:

Hi Uma.

Aspect either work on not :) - they are just a pieces of byte code physically inserted into
the target class. The reason you see {{DataXceiver.java:36}} in the stack is because there's
no source code line anymore to tie with.
An easy way to find out what's going on is to disassemble the class file. When you do it you
see this:
59     DataNode getDataNode()
60     {
61         return datanode;
62     }
64     public void run()
65     {
66         run_aroundBody1$advice(this, DataXceiverAspects.aspectOf(), this, null);
67     }
69 protected void opReadBlock(DataInputStream in, Block block, long startOffset, long
length, String clientName,
70             Token blockToken)
71         throws IOException
I'd say it should work as expected. If an unexpected behavior is seen it is likely that we
instrumented it on somewhat incorrect assumptions.
