Subject [jira] [Commented] (HDFS-2284) RW Http access to HDFS
Date Fri, 26 Aug 2011 04:13:29 GMT

Alejandro Abdelnur commented on HDFS-2284:

We could remove old hftp endpoint from hdfs when adding hoop. We'd keep the old hftp client
filesystem (for a new cluster to talk with an old one). Jobs running from old cluster could
add the hoop client filesystem to their classpath.

(side note, Hoop already supports file ranges over HTTP).

Given that seems to be an agreement on using Hoop as a replacement for hftp, doesn't make
sense to close this one as duplicate of HDFS-2178 and move the discussion there?
