Ravi: the docs are right -- the 2NN needs as much memory as the NN. But the same is true of
the SBN. But it's the same memory - a copy of the namespace, etc.

So, I agree that the SBN should be able to do checkpoints. We just need to implement a "checkpoint
abort" functionality. I will look into this.
