@Nicolas, I understand that the usecase of HFTP/HOOP may be different, but the implementation
can be exactly the same, only changes how you deploy it (in-NN/DN or separated).

@Milind, Hoop does attempt to redo RPC over HTTP, nor HFTP.  The purpose of Hoop is to provide
a simple HTTP REST API to perform all operations in the file system. As Sanjay pointed out,
this simplifies integration from other platforms as HTTP is widely supported by several tools/libraries.
Plus it allows to use Hoop as a gateway when the cluster and the rest of the infrastructure
are firewalled. Because of this it has an important value beyond solving RPC versions issues.
