I read the wordpress ref, but I didn't look closely at the uri printed out in my sample to
see that semicolons were not encoded.

BTW, I stumbled on why jetty drops everything after a semicolon.  VMS interprets it as file;version
and it won't execute a version.  This was viewed as a security hazard since "GET /my.jsp;1"
would retrieve the source of the jsp, thus the semantics of one obscure OS dictate a restriction
for every OS!
