Subject [jira] Commented: (HDFS-1484) thriftfs jar cleanup
Date Thu, 04 Nov 2010 01:54:44 GMT

dhruba borthakur commented on HDFS-1484:

we still use the thrift api to talk to HDFS from some python scripts. so, it would be nice
if we can get rid of the generated jars only.

> Thriftfs has some jars checked into the source directory (src/contrib/thriftfs/lib).
It contains libthrift.jar, which we should get via ivy, and hadoopthriftapi.jar which is
a checked in (out of date?) binary of the generated java code. This file could probably be
removed entirely.
