Subject [jira] Commented: (HDFS-1365) HDFS federation: propose ClusterID and BlockPoolID format
Date Sun, 05 Sep 2010 00:36:38 GMT

dhruba borthakur commented on HDFS-1365:
----------------------------------------

The blockPoolId identifies a storage block pool and a namespace id identifies a namespace.
I can understand that. c In phase 1, a hdfs.format command allocates a new blockpoolId and
a namespace id. these will be stored in the namenode's version file?

can u pl explain what a clusterId is needed for? Thanks.
