This may be CDH4 related, so I am moving it to cdh-user@cloudera.org

cdh-user lists.

For your JAVA_HOME issue, could you try setting in your ~/.bashrc or
~/.bash_profile the proper JAVA_HOME path via an "export
JAVA_HOME=/path/to/jdk" and then reload your shell (or source
~/.bashrc, etc.) and try again?
