Yes ... it you are looking for high uptime then keeping the Namenode OS-mirror always running
would be the best way to go.

We might need to explore further on the capabilities of HDFS backup node to see how it can
be utilized.

This means still we are relying on Secondary NameNode idealogy for Namenode's backup.
Can OS-mirroring of Namenode is a good alternative keep it alive all the time ?
