Subject building Hadoop on Karmic 64-bit
Date Sun, 29 Nov 2009 20:55:57 GMT
Hi all, newbie to Hadoop here. I hope I'm asking in the right location (if
not, a pointer would be much appreciated). I'm trying to build libhdfs
0.20.1 on Ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic) 64-bit.  I applied HADOOP-5611-fixed.patch,
and now the build is failing failing with these messages:

compile-c++-utils:
     [exec] depbase=`echo impl/SerialUtils.o | sed
's|[^/]*$|.deps/&|;s|\.o$||'`; \
     [exec]     if g++ -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I.

     [exec]     then mv -f "$depbase.Tpo" "$depbase.Po"; else rm -f
"$depbase.Tpo"; exit 1; fi

Can anyone give me a pointer?

Thanks!
