This does now work on trunk since HADOOP-2084 was committed.
I have updated the 10minutes page
http://wiki.apache.org/lucene-hadoop/Hbase/10Minutes

so that it takes you through all the steps you need whether you
want to run on the local file system or on top of HDFS.
