"minikdc <principal>+" requires at least one principal to run.

Good point about HADOOP_HOME not writable. I followed the example of HADOOP_LOG_DIR:

 HADOOP_LOG_DIR=${HADOOP_LOG_DIR:-"${HADOOP_HOME}/logs"}
{noformat}

The directory for minikdc is to save the generated krb5.conf and keytab, so how about {{/var/lib/hadoop-minikdc}}?

For HADOOP_LOG_DIR, how about {{/var/log/hadoop}}?
