Subject [jira] [Commented] (HADOOP-14794) Standalone MiniKdc server
Date Sat, 16 Sep 2017 04:54:00 GMT

John Zhuge commented on HADOOP-14794:

Thanks [~aw] for the review.

"minikdc <principal>+" requires at least one principal to run.

Good point about HADOOP_HOME not writable. I followed the example of HADOOP_LOG_DIR:

The directory for minikdc is to save the generated krb5.conf and keytab, so how about {{/var/lib/hadoop-minikdc}}?

For HADOOP_LOG_DIR, how about {{/var/log/hadoop}}?

> Project: Hadoop Common
> Issue Type: New Feature
> Components: security, test
> Affects Versions: 2.7.0
> Reporter: John Zhuge
> Assignee: John Zhuge

> Add a new subcommand {{hadoop minikdc}} to start a standalone MiniKdc server. This will
make it easier to test Kerberos in pseudo-distributed mode without an external KDC server.
