[~stevel@apache.org], the changes in patch v009 look good to me.  I think this is close to
being complete.

There was an earlier round of feedback from me that has not yet been addressed.  This was
small nitpicky stuff, nothing as tricky as the actual seek logic.  Here is a direct link to
