We preferred the test approach of this patch over that of HADOOP-11742. However, as other
tests sometimes leave artifacts behind, the test had transient problems and we propose to
fix this by forcing an empty root in the test case for this patch , as [~PieterReuse] pointed
out. [~eddyxu], did you see the same behaviour?
