[~rkannan82] I have not seen this jira/patch in details and so I cannot comment on whether
this change is useful or not for Hadoop. However, given that you are trying to make this change
for some dependent logic in Tez, perhaps you can open a jira in Tez for this right away instead
of waiting for jira to get committed. Tez was designed specifically to allow for such customizations
without needing to change Hadoop/cluster infrastructure. So perhaps, if we understand what
you are trying to achieve in Tez, then it might be possible to do that within Tez itself or
even outside of it.
