I did see a couple minor (non-interface) things in the example file, which I'll fix.

Thanks for the review.  I'll fix those minor issues and rebase the patch.

On your two points, yeah, with this we're starting to approach a point where need to probably
formalize the shell code now.  I've opened HADOOP-11553 to start working on that.
