+1 However I think it would be great to go into branch-2.  Looking at massive numbers is currently
a pain - ie. while squinting, is that 123K or 1.23M?  As you point out, nothing appears to
use the header so I think the change should be ok.  Another option is incorporate the patch
into branch-2 sans the header change, and change the header for trunk on possibly another
