Haohui Mai commented on HADOOP-10530:
-------------------------------------

The patch looks good to me. +1.

Built hdfs on both Mac OS X and CentOS with Java 7. Work as expected.

Built with Java 6 on CentOS. Failed as expected.

Ran a few tests with hdfs and it looked pretty good to me.

This should be a low risk change since (1) it is going into trunk only, and (2) Hadoop on
Java 7 has been proved in production (based on my understanding several company has been supporting
Hadoop on Java 7 for a while).

This only thing left is that we need to make sure that Jenkins moves to Java 7 before this
patch goes into the trunk.

> As discussed on hadoop-common, hadoop 3 is envisaged to be Java7+ *only* -this JIRA covers
switching the build for this
> # maven enforcer plugin to set Java version = {{[1.7)}}
> # compiler to set language to java 1.7
