I'm not sure this patch makes sense anymore.  It's what originally kickstarted the symlink
discussion before we did a deeper dive.

If globStatus is resolving symlinks along the way, it's never going to see a link so it doesn't
need to know if a link is a link to a directory.  Or am I missing something?
