Subject [jira] [Commented] (HADOOP-8662) remove separate pages for Common, HDFS & MR projects

Tom White commented on HADOOP-8662:
-----------------------------------

Migrating the website to Maven may take a while (and can be done in another JIRA), so I think
we should go ahead with this patch. All the changes look fine to me, although there was a
problem when I tried building it due to missing release notes and changes from old releases.
E.g.

{noformat}
docs/r0.20.0/releasenotes.html	BROKEN: /Users/tom/workspace/hadoop-site/main/author/src/documentation/content/xdocs/docs/r0.20.0/releasenotes.xml
(No such file or directory)
{noformat}

Not sure why this is happening - something to do with moving from the common directory?

> The tabs on the top of http://hadoop.apache.org/ link to separate sites for Common, HDFS
and MapReduce modules. These sites are identical except for the mailing lists. I propose
we move the mailing list information to the TLP mailing list page and remove these sub-project
websites.
