Patch looks good to me. Two small nits: 

# You can probably do away with the TestConnectorConfigurator class entirely, and just use
a mock and verify().
# Please indent 4 spaces when continuing a line instead of 2, e.g.:
{code}
+  public HttpURLConnection configure(HttpURLConnection conn)
+    throws IOException {
{code}
and:
{code}
+      HttpsURLConnection sslConn =
+        (HttpsURLConnection) new URL("https://foo").openConnection();
{code}
