Subject [jira] [Commented] (HADOOP-8268) A few pom.xml across Hadoop project may fail XML validation
Date Mon, 14 May 2012 16:13:51 GMT

Radim Kolar commented on HADOOP-8268:

Lets take another approach. Standard unix command for validating POMs is part of libxml2 package:

find . -name \*.xml -exec xmllint --valid --noout {} \;

to make xmllint validation work, you need to add proper schema to every pom which is good
practice anyway.

<project xmlns="http://maven.apache.org/POM/4.0.0"

hadoop has 43 pom.xml files.

> In a few pom files there are embedded ant commands which contains '>' - redirection.
This makes XML file invalid and this POM file can not be deployed into validating Maven repository
managers such as Artifactory.
