Subject [jira] [Updated] (HADOOP-7387) Change rpm to ignore configuration files when uninstalling
Date Tue, 14 Jun 2011 00:22:47 GMT

Eric Yang updated HADOOP-7387:

    Resolution: Won't Fix
        Status: Resolved (was: Patch Available)

Brian is right, the rpm behavior is not changeable, see:

And there are good reasons for .rpmsave backup files from package manager prospective. Hence,
this is a won't fix.

> Priority: Minor
> When uninstalling RPM files, the config files are renamed from core-site.xml to core-site.xml.rpmsave.
It would be nice if config file does not get renamed.
