Eli Collins updated HADOOP-6605:
--------------------------------

Description: The commands that source hadoop-config.sh currently bail with an error
if JAVA_HOME is not set. Let's detect JAVA_HOME (from a list of locations on various OS types)
if JAVA_HOME is not already set by hadoop-env.sh or the environment. This way users don't
have to manually configure it. (was: JAVA_HOME can be set in hadoop-env.sh and hadoop-config.sh
should respect this. hadoop-config will source hadoop-env after it determines a config directory.
If JAVA_HOME still isn't set, it will try to guess one from a list of Linux usual locations.
If one still isn't set it will quit with a verbose error message.)
             Priority: Minor (was: Major)
    Affects Version/s: (was: 0.20.2)
        Fix Version/s: 0.22.0
Assignee: Eli Collins (was: Chad Metcalf)
Summary: Add JAVA_HOME detection to hadoop-config (was: Improve JAVA_HOME detection
and handling in hadoop-config)
