Subject [jira] Commented: (HADOOP-7019) Remove fault injection artifacts from the default build and push to maven
Date Fri, 17 Dec 2010 21:36:03 GMT

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HADOOP-7019?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=12972657#action_12972657

Konstantin Boudnik commented on HADOOP-7019:

Luke, fault injection tests are the part of test cycle (again, they are _different_ from system
tests using code injection). They shouldn't be removed that easily. Just to provide you with
some background: in HDFS a majority of append code is tested with fault-injection tests. By
moving fault injection away from core testing you are accepting a 'welcome regressions' pattern.
Also, the title of the JIRA is misleading - I will change it.

> The current build always generates fault injection artifacts and pushes them to Maven.
Most developers have no need for these artifacts and no users need them.
