Subject [jira] Commented: (HADOOP-6840) Support non-recursive create() in FileSystem & SequenceFile.Writer
Date Thu, 11 Nov 2010 18:45:17 GMT

Nicolas Spiegelberg commented on HADOOP-6840:

Note: this patch is necessary for both 0.20-append & 0.21 branch to resolve a critical
data loss bug that we have in HBASE-2312. This patch has been crafted such that it only adds
an API and does not necessitate the need for regression testing any of the existing APIs.

> Project: Hadoop Common

> Priority: Minor

> The proposed solution for HBASE-2312 requires the sequence file to handle a non-recursive
create. This is already supported by HDFS, but needs to have an equivalent FileSystem &
SequenceFile.Writer API.
