This means ZlibCompressor#finished will always return false so CompressorStream#close loops indefinitely in finish: {code} while (!compressor.finished()) { compress(); } {code} I modifed TestCodec#testGzipCodecWrite to also cover writing using the native lib and confirmed the hang with jstack.
