Eli Collins commented on HADOOP-6306:

Could we avoid Ivy all together? Seems like executing a test shouldn't require an internet

> ant -Dtestcase used to execute in a couple of seconds, now running {{ant -Doffline=true
-Dtestcase=TestConfiguration test-core}} takes almost 20 seconds. Most of the overhead seems
to be due to ivy, but it also tries to compile. Changing {{test-core}} to {{test}} doubles
the execution time. It would be great to have an ant target that just executes the given test,
ie is as fast as running the unit test from eclipse.
