Subject [jira] [Created] (HADOOP-14962) TestKDiag succeeds when it is expected to fail
Date Wed, 18 Oct 2017 22:25:01 GMT
Wei-Chiu Chuang created HADOOP-14962:

Summary: TestKDiag succeeds when it is expected to fail
                 Key: HADOOP-14962
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HADOOP-14962
             Project: Hadoop Common
          Issue Type: Bug
          Components: security
            Reporter: Wei-Chiu Chuang

I was trying to understand why TestKDiag fails intermittently, and found some TestKDiag tests
are supposed to fail when they actually succeed.

For example, testBasicLoginSkipped has the following error

2017-10-18 15:18:39,114 ERROR security.TestKDiag (TestKDiag.java:kdiagFailure(107)) - Expected
an exception in category LOGIN, return code 0
According the javadoc of kdiagFailure:
Exec KDiag and expect a failure of a given category
So it looks like it should have failed through, but it doesn't.
