Subject building branch-2 on windows
Date Wed, 28 Oct 2015 16:18:50 GMT

I've tried to get Hadoop 2.6.2 to build on windows, and can do the non-native stuff if I disable
javadocs.

what I can't do is build the native libs; and this also holds for branch-2

main:
[exec] -- Building for: NMake Makefiles
[exec] -- The C compiler identification is MSVC 16.0.30319.1
[exec] -- The CXX compiler identification is MSVC 16.0.30319.1
[exec] -- Check for working C compiler: C:/Program Files (x86)/Microsoft Visual Studio
10.0/VC/bin/amd64/cl.exe
[exec] -- Check for working C compiler: C:/Program Files (x86)/Microsoft Visual Studio
10.0/VC/bin/amd64/cl.exe --
works
[exec] -- Detecting C compiler ABI info
[exec] -- Detecting C compiler ABI info - done
[exec] -- Check for working CXX compiler: C:/Program Files (x86)/Microsoft Visual Studio

     [exec] See also "C:/Work/hadoop-trunk/hadoop-common-project/hadoop-common/target/native/CMakeFiles/CMakeOutput.log"
.

So, no ZLIB

Except I do have ZLIB, and certainly the native stuff built last year

Does anyone have any suggestions here? I like to have a setup where I can build the native
windows libs for the ASF releases
