HDFS can support symlinks if use the patch of HDFS-245.
I am implementing libhdfs and fuse-dfs to support symlinks.
And I created two patch that is HDFS-427-ver1.patch and HDFS-468-ver1.patch.
I want to submit its if test patch is ok.

I tried to point to a jdk v5 as the following
