Subject [jira] Commented: (HADOOP-6028) NPE server side when getting http://namenode/fileChecksum/*
Date Fri, 12 Jun 2009 14:28:07 GMT

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HADOOP-6028?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=12718851#action_12718851

Steve Loughran commented on HADOOP-6028:
----------------------------------------

the line in question is part of the split up of the path

{code}
  static byte[][] getPathComponents(String path) {
    return getPathComponents(getPathNames(path));  //in getPathComponents
  }
{code}

{{getPathNames()}} returns null if the input is bad, but getPathComponents(String[]) assumes
that the array is always non-null.

Presumably this could be unit tested fairly easily, it all being static path parsing work.
