Hi all,
    We are almost set for the project split. I'd like to propose 26  
may 2009 as the day we split map/reduce and hdfs out of core. Toward  
that end, I'll make a branch in subversion named HADOOP-4687 that will  
hold the proposed splits. It will look like:

branches/HADOOP-4687/{core,mapreduce,hdfs}

with svn copies of the directories moved around. That will let us test  
each of the build scripts and let everyone see it before it is  
committed.
