Subject [jira] Commented: (HADOOP-5617) make chukwa log4j configuration more transparent from hadoop
Date Thu, 23 Apr 2009 13:07:30 GMT

Steve Loughran commented on HADOOP-5617:

surely the path which log4j file to use can also be set in JVM options -making that configurable
could be convenient for some people (disclaimer, I use a different commons-logging back-end
for even more complex logging setups)

> Key: HADOOP-5617
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HADOOP-5617
> Project: Hadoop Core
> Issue Type: Improvement
> Components: build
> Environment: Redhat 5.1, Java 6
> Reporter: Eric Yang
> Priority: Minor
> The current log4j appender retro fitting to hadoop is less than ideal. In theory, the
log4j appender configuration should be changable by the environment scripts. This ticket
is to track any changes required to make hadoop log4j configuration more portable.
