Subject [jira] Commented: (HADOOP-2937) list of dead nodes with time information
Date Wed, 04 Feb 2009 01:09:59 GMT

Jakob Homan commented on HADOOP-2937:

HADOOP-5094 provides basically this information through the dfsadmin -report command, which
I think is equivalent to the request for gui information. If no one disagrees, this issue
can be resolved as having been fixed by 5094.

> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HADOOP-2937
> Project: Hadoop Core
> Issue Type: Improvement
> Components: dfs
> Affects Versions: 0.16.0

> One of our namenodes ended up with 5% of dead datanodes.
> It occurred to us that it would be good to know when individual datanodes became dead.
If the list of dead datanodes on the GUI of the namenode included a sortable column of the
'going-dead' times then it would be easier to see whether there is potential danger of having
lost some blocks.
