Since authentication is the motivating case, should we add an example for that?  It should,
e.g., check to see if the request already specifies credentials, and only redirect the user
when it does not.  That way non-user-facing pages can be easily accessed programmatically
by putting the credentials in the headers.  Or is this thought to be obvious enough that we
don't need an example?
