We will though.  So, if you don't use HDFS, it might still be worth trying to use the FileSystem
API to talk to the local FS, so that a subsequent move to HDFS would be trivial, a matter
of configuration.  Perhaps we should start supporting append in the FileSystem API and in
the local implementation now, to permit this?
